I was born and raised in Taiyuan, a city in northern China. Growing up, I was always curious about how things worked—not just machines or math, but also why people make the decisions they do in business and in life.

In 2019, I took a leap of faith and moved to the United States to study at The University of Iowa. Everything was new—language, culture, campus life—but I embraced the challenge. My very first job in the U.S. was working in the Burge dining hall, where I served meals to hundreds of students each day. It taught me the importance of hard work, communication, and humility.

I majored in Business Analytics & Information System, Finance and Risk Management, and that’s where I discovered my interest in data. I began to see how data could uncover patterns, reduce uncertainty, and drive smarter decisions. That interest grew stronger as I worked on real-world projects—like automating insurance data workflows, analyzing movie revenue trends, and exploring how retail AI impacts business incentives.

Now at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, I’m continuing this journey through the MS in Business Analytics program. I’m learning to use Python, R, and SQL not just as tools—but as bridges between numbers and action.

I’m passionate about helping organizations use data to make better choices, whether it’s in insurance, operations, or strategic planning. My story is still being written, and I’m excited to see where the next chapter leads.
